The new Doosan DX800LC-7 excavator brings the best performance in the 80 tones class – part 1

Doosan has introduced the new 80 tones excavator DX800LC-7 that meets the requirements of Stage V. It is the biggest model of excavator that the company has ever made.

Doosan DX800LC-7

This new excavator is powered by the most powerful engine in the 80 tones class, and it also has the highest hydraulic flow in this size of machine. As well as in all the other machines Doosan, a lot of attention was dedicated to comfort and safety of the operators. The DX800LC-7 model has a very spacious cabin for the operator, equipped with ergonomic controlling elements and machine equipment. All the components of the machine were designed and tested with the goal of ensuring their maximum durability. The maintenance of DX800LC-7 is very easy, which lowers the delay times to a minimum.

The most powerful engine Stage V

The DX800LC-7 excavator is powered by the new version of a time-tested diesel Perkins 2506 J engine which meets the Stage V limits, with performance of 403 kW (548 k), which is more than in any other machine of the same class. DPF automatically regenerates every 25 hours and the operability of the excavator is not influenced in any way during this regeneration phase.

The highest hydraulic flow

The high performance of the engine is combined with the Virtual Bleed Off (VBO) (D ECOPOWER+) hydraulic system which provides the best hydraulic flow in the 1008 l/min class and high systemic pressure of 343 bar which all combined contributes to the best performance in the segment of 80 tons machines.

Software is used for electronic reproduction of all the advantages of hydraulic systems with open centre with very little energy losses of energy. The hydraulic system and engine performance are fully optimized and synchronized, which lowers energy losses. The improved feedback through the joystick provides the operator with better control of the machine as a result.

The choice of boom and rotation regimes

To ensure the optimal operating when working with the DX800LC-7 excavator, the operator can switch between two regimes – Boom or Rotation    Faster working speed in the DX800LC-7 model are ensured by the system of off-loader regeneration in the low position with two coils, which also lowers the fuel consumption. The DX800LC-7 model also normally includes a lockable valve of the off-loader/boom cylinder (valve against snapping of the hose).

Higher comfort and manoeuvrability

The cabin of the DX800LC-7 model, apart from outstanding spaciousness and ergonomics, is designed to significantly improve the comfort of the operator and the difficulty of control. Key innovations in the cabin include:

  • New 8inch touchscreen colour LCD panel which provides information with a 30 % larger screen.
  • stereo system integrated in the dashboard (with Bluetooth streaming function)
  • system of starting without key
  • cabin interior improvement, including:
  • improved performance of air conditioning/defrosting
  • heated seat (2 levels)
  • 360° camera
  • Set of LED work lights
  • side protection and platforms
  • air compressor and air pistol for cleaning of the cabin ((optional)

A complete set of cameras consisting of the front camera, two side cameras and a back camera, is included.
