The new A 922 Rail Litronic two-way excavator – one machine for everyone
Several decades of experience, consistent development and the desire to always offer maximum efficiency and performance shaped the A 922 Rail excavator. This new generation continues the successful concept of its predecessor and brings many new ideas and improvements. The two-way excavator with an operational weight of 20,400 – 23,400 kg offers more power thanks to its new engine and can be equipped with the appropriate exhaust gas cleaning system according to the emission regulations of the respective country. This will also make the machine available in countries with both high and low levels of regulation.
Higher performance
The A 922 Rail excavator with the new 120 kW / 163 PS engine achieves even higher working speeds with the usual smooth implement movements. The flow rate of the proven adjustable double-acting pump (with independent control circuits) was increased to 2 × 220 l/min for higher performance when controlling work tools. The hydraulic system continues to use the combined power of the two hydraulic circuits. The heavyweight of the tracked excavator was modified to provide better weight distribution with more compact stern dimensions (stern overhang of 2,000 mm) to allow better load capacity of the machine.
Liebherr chassis
Adapting the machine to the customer’s needs is part of our product philosophy. The A 922 Rail excavator offers different chassis variants with different gauges and track wheels, allowing the machine to be used on railways around the world. The independently adjustable rail chassis pump ensures optimum traction and reliable traction drive at all times. Brakes integrated as standard in the rail wheels shortens the stopping distance of the excavator for even greater safety.
Proprietary security systems
In addition to the basic machine and rolling chassis, Liebherr also offers its safety systems that provide our customers with full assistance on-site at all times.
Technologies such as load moment limitation, height limitation and turn limitation or virtual wall are part of the safety concept. As a result, the operator can always rely on the machine and concentrate on his work.
Double cabin
Thanks to its modern design, the spacious double cabin with a standard supplied protective frame (ROPS) offers optimal conditions for comfortable, focused and productive work. Access to the cabin is facilitated by an illuminated entrance. The usual large glass surfaces combined with the standard equipment of stern and side cameras ensure an optimal view of the working and handling area. The colour touch screen for indication and control is linked to other controls integrated into the console and the operator’s comfort seat to form a seamless control unit. Accessible maintenance
The A 922 Rail’s easy-maintenance oriented excavator body enables quick maintenance and minimises maintenance costs by saving time. All maintenance points are conveniently accessible from the ground. The new generation of rail excavators makes access to important components even easier, e.g. the air, oil and fuel filters, the main battery switch, the swing axle lubricators or the emergency control servo valves are even more accessible.
