GREY SANDSTONE FROM MĘCINA 2

There is a processing factory near the quarry. it is equipped with wire saws, CNC machines, water-jet for cutting and lines for surface treatment. The monthly production capacity of the factory is 2000 square metres of ready products.

The Męcina sandstone is also suitable as a sculpting material. Sculptors characterize it as hard, fine-grained, cohesive material. This makes it suitable for shaping and working with. It is resistant to random damage, difficult to cut, but very suitable for manual treatment in any direction. It provides sharp edges and enables the realization of the smallest details. It does not contain any fragments, pores, or fine micro-cracks.

Męcina Królewska is used in renovation of historical buildings. The solid staircase in the church in Kobylanka, floors in Collegial Church of Holly Trinity in Ołyce and in the Cathedral of Saint Apostles Peter and Paul in Lucko – both in Volhynia, can be found among the products from this material. It will also be used in the renovation of the floor in the chapel of St. Anna in Bielsko-Biała.

An example of its use in exteriors are the markets in Bielsko-Biała, Bochnia, and Jelenia Góra, the façades of the Polish Center for Technology Development in Wroclaw, the Wroclaw University of Technology, and, also, the communications and arcades of the NATO army barracks in Southern Bavaria and Sonthofen.

It is worth mentioning also the renewal of the M. Dukieta park in Krynica-Zdrój and the District Court in Wroclaw, in Świebodzka street. The awarded building of the New York residence in Krakow and the interiors of the residence Kossak, also in Krakow, are among other remarkable projects. Solid staircases and plinth stones in historical style are currently supposed to be made from this stone in the square in Muszyna as well.
