Can you feel that when you look at photos on various occasions, you subconsciously pay attention to the stone? And not always in the form as touched by the human hand or its tools.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Now, this was also the case for me. The beauty of nature in its natural form caught my attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los \u00d3rganos are cliffs situated in the north of the island of La Gomera (Canary Islands). What makes them so special? There is only one answer to this question: their amazing shape! They are often compared to church organs, only carved in rock \u2013 hence their name \u2013 Los \u00d3rganos. And perhaps there would be nothing special about them, if it were not for their size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

200 meters wide and 80 meters high, the mighty basalt pillars create a sight that can be seen nowhere else on the Canary Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it is not without interest that the formation has its invisible continuation below the water level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los \u00d3rganos has been a protected nature reserve since 1994. It is also a nesting place for many species of birds, as well as \u2013 in its underwater part \u2013 for numerous marine flora and fauna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2011, the place was also proclaimed a Special Protection Area (ZEC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cliff can only be seen from the side of water. In order to reach it, you need to make use of the offer by one of the local tourist offices, which picks up those who fancy a four-hour cruise. Cruise ships mainly depart from Valle Gran Rey and Playa de Santiago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are only a few such basalt nature monument worldwide. Therefore, when spending your vacation in the Canary Islands, do not hesitate to set off for a trip and visit this wonderful place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
