The rest of gabion baskets (back) can be filled up with ordinary coarse-grained stones.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:33px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The upper part of gabion basket is filled with aggregates of smaller size in the way that solid basement is built for another row of gabion baskets.\u00a0\u00a0But be careful when filling up gabion baskets with proper stones size so there is no risk of falling down of debris from sides.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is quite easy to fill up gabion baskets with knapped stone cubes of regular size or smaller coarse aggregates which large enough not to fall through meshes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So-called coloured mosaic is the most time-consuming activity. Gabion baskets are filled up with varicoloured stones which create picturesque patterns on the sides. We should choose either one type of stone or more which can easily prearrange patterns of mosaic (see above).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabions can be filled wih soil (except from stones) combined with geotextile on visible sides which keeps the soil inside. It is possible to use combination of stone and hard timber or other materials.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img src=\"https:\/\/img.ceskestavby.cz\/cache\/600x750-1\/i.ceskyinternet.cz\/clanky\/odstavce\/22442-550809-1_20090-540140-2_natuerlich3.jpg\" alt=\"Gabiony\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:37px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4>Filling up gabion baskets with aggregates<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Stones are filled into open gabion baskets with inserted remote buckles. At first visible side is filled up manually, then back side is filled up with smaller stones. Afterwards, another part of visible side is filled up manually and the back side as well which means we proceed gradually to its height and width. Gabions can be filled with stones right away, it depends on size of stones and net mesh. The gabions can be filled up manually and smaller stones can be used just as fillings for interstice. If the gabions are to be built into more rows, we do not fill up gabions fully before closing them with a&nbsp;cover lid. After cover lid preparation we fill up last row with smaller stones.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is common to fill up back side of gabion with stones or soil which must not be frozen and it must not contain inappropriate blending component. Before filling up with soil geotextile should be used as a&nbsp;filter in order to avoid soil to be flooded into gabions.
